Jerry Houser, Ph.D., is the director of the Caltech Career Development Center. Prior jobs have included associate professor at APU; residential life, the volunteer center, and the career center at USC; youth minister, tennis instructor, carpenter, circus clown and ringmaster in a traveling circus; banker, door-to-door salesman, and bus driver. He has taught with APU almost annually beginning in 1973, and in APU’s Operation Impact/Master in Leadership and Organizational Studies (MLOS) Program for 14 years.

Awarded Distinguished Alumni for APU's School of Psychology; one of five annual recipients for USC Student Affairs Achievement Awards 1988, 1990, 1993, 1996 for professional service and outstanding programs; Who's Who in the West, America, the World; Outstanding Service Award for the Western Association of Colleges and Employers.

Houser has written over 30 op-ed articles for publications/organizations such as the USC Business School, The Collegiate Recruiter, Career Vision Magazine, USC Student Affairs Division, The Collegiate Insider, The U Magazine, and The Changing Paradigm.
