All students are expected to prepare for, participate in, and contribute to every class session. Make-up work is required and acceptable absenses are limited.
Papers for every course are expected to reflect college-level writing ability. They are assessed for content, organization, and writing skills. All papers are to be typed and proofread prior to submission.
Students who evidence writing difficulties will be expected to attend a supplementary writing workshop, generally held on a Saturday two to three times a year.
Graduation
A student must complete 33 semester hours of graduation work within the MLOS Program with an overall GPA of 3.0 in order to receive his or her degree from Azusa Pacific University.
The responsibility for meeting all graduation requirements rests upon the individual student. Failure to meet deadlines will result in delayed posting of degree.
Graduation is not automatic upon completion of all course work. Students who intend to graduate must complete an Intent to Graduate form and file it with the associate registrar in the Center for Adult and Professional Studies at least 60 days prior to commencement.
All degree requirements must be met before academic clearance will be granted to participate in the commencement ceremonies. Financial responsibilities to the university must be satisfied before academic clearance will be granted.
Commencement exercises are held at the end of the fall semester, the end of the spring semester, and the end of the summer session. The university president, by the authority of the trustees and on recommendation of the faculty, awards the degrees. Details regarding the exercises are mailed to prospective participants. In order to participate in the commencement exercises, all financial obligations to the university must be met.
