Admission Requirements

Application Deadline

The RN to BSN Program works on a rolling admission basis, and classes begin once a year when a maximum of 20 students have enrolled, forming a cohort that will complete the program as a group. The first step is to contact a CAPS enrollment counselor at (626) 815-5301 and/or attend an information meeting. The sooner you submit your admissions materials, the sooner you can begin your program.

Admission Requirements

To be admitted to the Nursing (RN to BSN) Degree Completion Program, the student must have:

  1. Completed CAPS Application for Admission
  2. A $25 nonrefundable application fee
  3. A minimum of 60 units of transferable credit (earned with a C- grade or better) from accredited colleges or universities, documented on official transcripts from each institution attended (Transcripts must be mailed from the colleges or universities directly to APU. A maximum of 70 units may be transferred from a community college.)
  4. Official transcripts from all schools attended (two copies)
  5. A grade-point average of 2.0 or above (on a 4.0 scale) in the transferred courses
  6. Minimum 23 years of age
  7. Be a registered professional nurse, licensed in California, with at least one year of work experience as a registered nurse, and graduated from an accredited associate degree or diploma nursing program.
