How to Apply for Loans

Azusa Pacific University now offers students the option of applying for loans online. Just scroll down to the type of loan you want to apply for and follow the instructions.

To apply online, the computer you use must have the following:

  • Internet access
  • Adobe Acrobat Reader, version 4.01 or greater*
  • Browser – Netscape 4.7 or greater or MS Internet Explorer 5.0 or greater
  • A printer

Federal Stafford Loan Information
To apply for a Stafford Subsidized or Unsubsidized Loan online, follow this link: Begin an Online Loan Application. Be sure to have your social security number, driver’s license, and two (2) complete references before starting the online process.


Stafford Subsidized Loan
Borrowing maximums:
Junior $5,500
Senior $5,500

Eligibility is guaranteed to all who file the FAFSA and are enrolled at least half time, unless total need is exceeded.

Stafford Unsubsidized Loan
Borrowing maximums:
Junior $5,000
Senior $5,000

Graduate (MLOS)

Federal Stafford Loan Information
To apply for a Stafford Subsidized or Unsubsidized Loan online, follow this link: Begin an Online Loan Application. Be sure to have your social security number, driver’s license, and two (2) complete references before starting the online process.


Stafford Subsidized Loan
Borrowing maximums:
$8,500

Eligibility guaranteed to all who file the FAFSA and are enrolled at least half time, unless total need is exceeded.

Stafford Unsubsidized Loan
Borrowing maximums:
$12,000

Undergraduate (BSOL, HDEV, CIS/MIS, CL, RN to BSN)

Federal Perkins Loans
To apply for a Federal Perkins Loan, you must complete the Perkins Loan Request Form and Loan Entrance and the Federal Perkins Master Promissory Note. If you are eligible for this loan, the application will be sent to you.


Perkins Loan
Borrowing maximums:
$900
Awarded to students with exceptional high need.
Eligibility is determined by the FAFSA and the availability of funds.

Federal P.L.U.S. Loan (PARENTS ONLY)

To apply, for a Federal P.L.U.S. Loan online, follow this link: Begin an Online Loan Application. Be sure to have your social security number, driver’s license, and two (2) complete references before starting the online process.

P.L.U.S. Loan
Borrowing maximums:
Any amount up to the total cost of attendance minus other aid. Either parent may apply subject to credit approval.
