Loan Exit Requirements

The federal government requires all loan borrowers to complete the Loan Exit Requirement as a recipient of federal Stafford loans. You must complete a loan exit when you either withdraw from school, drop below half time, or graduate.

Federal Perkins Loan

You must contact the Perkins Office if you received any Perkins Loans. You can reach the Perkins Loan Representative at (626) 815-3891.

Information Needed to Begin
  • Expected employer (if unknown, you can answer "unknown")
  • Next of kin (a family member who can be easily contacted)
  • Two references (names, addresses, and phone numbers)
  • Expected permanent address

Please have the following loan information ready when you begin:

  • Loan type (Subsidized Stafford, Unsubsidized Stafford)
  • Loan balances
  • Loan interest rate (caps at 8.25%)
  • Estimated time of repayment

If you do not have your loan information, contact your lender or go to the NSLDS website at www.nslds.ed.gov if you have a U.S. Department of Education PIN.
