Carnegie Community Engagement Classification
In 2010, APU became one of only 311 institutions of higher education that have ever been awarded this most prestigious distinction in the United States recognizing outstanding university commitment to community service and service learning.
President’s Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll
APU’s Center for Academic Service-Learning and Research is one of only 14 universities nationwide to be recognized by the President’s Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll "with Distinction" for four consecutive years.
The President’s Honor Roll distinguishes APU as a leader in community service and service learning. This award demonstrates the university’s commitment to:
- Being a service leader in our community.
- Building community partnerships.
- Strengthening our neighborhoods.
- Fulfilling our mission and purpose.
APU is 1 of 14 schools in the country and 1 of 2 schools in California to have made the Honor Roll every year (includes 2006, 2007, 2008, and 2009 Honor Rolls—the only four years it has been in existence).
