Advancement Via Individual Determination (A.V.I.D.)
Within the A.V.I.D. program, Azusa Pacific University students serve as tutors and mentors to Azusa middle and high school students by conducting small-group tutorials. A.V.I.D. is an elective course designed specifically for B and C average middle and high school students to enhance learning by helping students think critically and improve their writing skills. APU tutors support the A.V.I.D. program in the Azusa Unified School District, in all three middle schools (Center Middle School, Foothill Middle School, and Slauson Middle School) and two high schools (Azusa High School and Gladstone High School).
