The Good, The Bad, and the Ugly: Street Art Panel
Street art has become a hot topic in Los Angeles and has become a major platform for challenging the modern notion of art and its place in society. Professor Jim Daichendt will discuss the scene moderating with guest artists Cristian Gheorghiu aka Smear, Haunted Euth, and Kiosk.
The artists involved fashion symbols, pop imagery and graffiti inspired ethos to create accessible work that appeals to a broad audience. While the term is loose, it represents artists that utilize the public sphere to share their work.
Copies of Prof. Daichendt's new book, Stay Up! Los Angeles Street Art (Cameron + Company), will be available for the artists to sign following the discussion.
This event will take place on Tuesday, November 6 in the Duke Lobby, West Campus from 5:00-5:45pm.
