We are pleased to share that Professor Kent Anderson Butler is in an international travelling video art screening exhibition, Time is Love 6*. His video, Embodied Departure (2010-11), was selected as part of the exhibition that is travelling to multiple, international venues beginning in January.
Tyler Stallings for KCET.org wrote in a December 2012 essay that Kent's videos have an "iconic quality. A majority of the videos include himself, are in slow motion, and focus on a single gesture that takes place in a private space, whether interior or exterior, sometimes a bathroom, and other times a park, for example....In essence, Butler's video works from 2002 to 2012 embody a profound commitment to art and its intentionally ambiguous delivery as a valid path for insightful discoveries about the human condition."
Debuting January 26 at the Mori + Stein Gallery in London, England, Time is Love 6 has since gone on to Sazmanab Platform for Contemporary Arts in Tehran, Iran and is set to travel from there to Savvy Contemporary in Berlin, Germany; Kulter.Gallery in Amsterdam, Netherlands; Foundation 3.14 in Bergen, Norway; and Garage Gallery in San Diego, USA.
