Bart McHenry is the chair of the Department of Theater, Film, and Television, where he also serves as the university’s musical theater specialist, directing musicals and teaching musical theater courses. Additionally, he has directed many other college and community theater productions, frequently instructs master classes on musical theater auditioning, and has conducted auditioning workshops for many colleges and conferences. As a performer, McHenry has appeared regionally in many musicals and concerts as a featured soloist.

As chair of the department, he has a passion for helping students develop and hone their artistic talent in order to prepare them to succeed as future leaders in the entertainment industry, the educational field, and the Church.

Professor McHenry has appeared regionally in many musicals including: Sweet at Hot, Evita, Company, Godspel, Eisenstein in the operetta Die Fledermaus, Thurio in Two Gentlemen of Verona, Gus in Babes in Arms, Gerald in Me and My Girl, Action and Baby John in separate productions of West Side Story, Hillary in the west coast premier of The New Yorkers, Biff and BJ in separate productions of 1940’s Radio Hour, and Al in A Chorus Line.
