Daichendt is a professor in the Department of Art and Design as well as a professor for Boston University’s graduate program in art education. He previously served as acting director of the graduate art education program at Queens College, City University of New York.
Jim is the author of Artist Teacher: A Philosophy for Creating and Teaching (2010) and Artist Scholar: Reflections on Writing and Research (2011), both published by Intellect Books, and Stay Up! Los Angeles Street Art (Cameron + Company, 2012). He is also the chief editor of the academic journal Visual Inquiry: Learning & Teaching Art, as well as the arts and culture editor for Beverly Hills Lifestyle magazine. He regularly writes art criticism for ArtScene and Artillery: Killer Text on Art.
