Profile
Karen Sorensen, M.A., is an assistant professor in the Department of Communication Studies. She is an active member of the APU community and invests time working with students in the newsroom and around campus as faculty advisor to the university’s student newspaper, The Clause. As an APU alumna, Sorensen is concerned about ongoing community relationships and makes use of service learning in most of her classes, providing opportunities for her students to work in local schools and nonprofit organizations in the city of Azusa. Her areas of interest include narrative journalism, composition theory, and servant leadership.
