Profile
Monica Ganas, Ph.D., is a professor of theater, film, television, and communication studies. A frequent presenter of popular culture research, she initiated and developed the media studies area at APU, including radio station KAPU and local television program, Azusa Take-Off. Ganas has taught 30 different courses, 16 of which she created. She directs main stage productions for APU Theater and has created the Azusa Renaissance Project, which brings theater to local children and local children to the theater. Ganas is faculty adviser of the APU Film Society and Students for Social Justice. She is a twenty-five year veteran in the entertainment industry, performing as actor, writer, director and producer, principally in satirical comedy.
