Melissa LaBonte Wilson, Ph.D., is an assistant professor in the Department of Biology and Chemistry. She is a native of Southern California and 2004 alumna of Azusa Pacific. Before returning to APU in fall 2011, Dr. Wilson completed her Ph.D. in Systems Biology and Disease at the University of Southern California, where she focused on Cancer Biology with an emphasis on colorectal cancer.
Current research projects in her lab at APU focus on translational research in breast, colorectal, and gastric cancer through elucidating both the mechanisms of action and resistance of novel chemotherapeutic agents when used alone and in combination chemotherapy.
