Manar was born in Cairo (Egypt) where she grew up, earned her B.A. in English Literature and worked as an admin for almost 10 years. She loves languages and in addition to English, is conversant in Arabic & French while still working on her Italian and Japanese. She has always believed that 'language' is a gift and that the diversity of tongues is something that God enjoys and endorses. Manar got her M.A. in TESOL from APU and she taught Grammar and Seminar Speaking at APU’s American Language and Culture Institute, while continuing in her role as a program coordinator for the department of Global Studies, Sociology and TESOL. She has also taught Online Orientation and Reflective Teaching in the Master's program. Her areas of interest include culture, self-directed language learning, curriculum design, and English grammar.
