Nancy Brashear, Ph.D., began her 30 year education career as a K-12 teacher in public schools and has the following credentials: Standard Life Credential, grades K-8, Standard Life Credential for English, grades 7-12, Ryan Reading Specialist Credential, K-adult education, Cross-cultural, Language and Academic Development Certificate (C.L.A.D.), grades K-12, and Pathwise Classroom Performance Assessments Observer Proficiency Certificate 4 (ETS, 1997). In addition, she taught college English courses for five years prior to entering the field of teacher education, and served as a CCTC, ACSI, and WASC accreditation team member. She has a special interest in literacy development for all ages, literacy and language development for second-language learners, children and adolescent literature, creative writing, and teacher education.
