Profile
Paul A. Creasman, Ph.D., is an associate professor of communication and media studies and is the faculty advisor to KAPU Radio. Before turning to academia in 1998, he spent nearly ten years in the radio industry, and worked from 1996 to 1998 with Salem Communications Corporation, home of "The Fish" music format.

His research interests include religious popular culture, impact of new technologies on culture, and college radio. His most recent research involves cultural implications of the iPod. At the core of his teaching lay two strong undercurrents. First is the idea that media technologies create immersive environments. These environments then have radical implications on our lives. Understanding the basic functioning of diverse media forms is essential to "survival" in these media-saturated times. This leads to the second theme found in Paul's classes: Christian media practitioners need to understand "how" media speak in order to create the most effective presentations.
