"I want viewers to look at my photographs rather than through them. I offer photographs that are inherently of something but cannot be deciphered with certainty and thus I alter viewers’ expectations of how they experience photography. The signs and symbols that we perceive and understand cease to be recognized once reference points are taken away. By abstracting the recognizable world I seek to expand the viewers experience and help them look at the photograph in new ways".
