The need has never been greater in Haiti for a degree program that starts with existing leaders among the poor. Through APU’s MATUL program, in partnership with the the Université Épiscopale d’Haiti, students are poised to contribute to the Caribbean country’s recovery from a devastating 2010 earthquake.
Focusing on step-by-step engagement in Biblical reflection, participants are actively connected with the core elements of transforming poverty. With a theological center on the local church as the axis of change, the program also provides a context for non-governmental leadership groups to improve training with an integration of faith, skills, and social analysis alongside slum church leaders.
