Award-Winning Films
From day one, students in the Cinematic Arts programs are challenged to do more than just learn how to use filmmaking equipment. They are encouraged to develop great stories that are rich in depth, insight, and passion. With these goals and first-rate faculty instruction, it’s no wonder that our student films do so well at film festivals.
Our student films have impressed at major events like the Festival of Media Arts. This event is put on each year by the Broadcast Educators Association, a consortium that includes more than 1,600 professors who represent more than 275 colleges and universities. Films by APU students have placed in the top tier every year since 2005, and won Best of Festival twice.
Other festivals that APU films have won at include: Damah Film Festival, Rogue Independent Film Festival, Reel Spirituality/LAFSC Film Festival, Paste Magazine’s Rockin’ Reel Film Festival, and the International Christian Visual Media Crown Awards.
