Larry Sandez
Technical Director, APU Theater
Phone: (626) 815-5035
Email: lsandez@apu.edu
A native of Southern California, Larry is an APU alumnus with a nine-year history in the Department of Theater, Film, and Television—first as a student, now as a staff member. Serving as the technical director and in-house lighting designer, he is passionate about the APU Theater program and enjoys working daily to achieve excellence through this art. He has had the opportunity to work in many facets of technical theater, and it has been his joy to be able to design the lighting and even some of the sets for the department.
Sandez also worked as the technical director and lighting designer for the MarMac Repertory Theater Company and for Maranatha High School. Some of his favorite lighting credits include Joseph and the Technicolor Dreamcoat at the Ambassador Auditorium, and Dancing at Lughnasa, A Few Good Men, Thoroughly Modern Millie, Of Mice and Men, The Last Five Years, and Death of a Salesman at APU.
It is Larry’s great hope that one day the Department of Theater, Film, and Television will grow to the point where they rebuild and re-model the Warehouse Theater and turn it into something so much more!

Behind the scenes, Matthew has been working with the APU technical theater program since fall 2005 wherever he's been needed.
