Growing for Purposeful Service (GPS @ APU)
What Is "GPS @ APU: Growing for Purposeful Service"?
The Global Positioning System (GPS) employs satellites and receivers as technological resources that permit users to identify their precise location on earth. In a similar manner, GPS @ APU: Growing for Purposeful Service provides resources to assist students in:
- Identifying their vocation (or calling)
- Exploring possible ways to live out that vocation in service to Christ, the Church, and the world
GPS @ APU: Growing for Purposeful Service includes programs in support of the Four Cornerstones (Christ, Scholarship, Community, and Service):
- Funded student internships in area churches and community organizations (partnership with Career Services)
- Peer Support Network retreats and other activities (partnership with the Department of Practical Theology)
- Support for enhanced CMIN 401, 402 internship experience (partnership with the Department of Practical Theology)
- Support for Beginnings class for incoming freshman students (partnership with the Noel Academy for Strengths-Based Leadership and Education)
