How to Get Involved
All Students
Check the event calendar for monthly activities and contact information.
Freshmen
If you are a freshman in the Beginnings course and are part of an Alpha group . . . you are already involved!
Your leader has received special training in helping you understand how your strengths will be useful in service to Christ, the Church, and the world.
Transfer Students
If you are a transfer student, you can get involved by:
- Visiting Doug Stude, M.Ed., in the Office of Career Services to learn about StrengthsFinder
- Taking this online inventory and receiving feedback on how your strengths will be useful in your service to Christ, the Church, and the world
Seniors
Take advantage of the Omega Project activities that will take place throughout the year. Check the event calendar for monthly activities provided by the Offices of Student Success, Career Services, and Alumni Relations designed to ease your transition from APU into the world of employment, graduate school, and all that awaits you upon graduation.
Social Issues
If you are interested in discussing social issues and learning about possible ways that Christians can respond to them, you can get involved by participating in Matheteis Forum, a monthly dinner meeting that provides food for the mind as well. The Office of Ministry and Service (M.A.S.) plans and coordinates these events, with funding assistance from Lilly Endowment, Inc.
Christian Ministry Interns
If you are taking CMIN 401/402, you are already involved!
Dick Pritchard, D.Min., leads an interdisciplinary team of professors who will help you understand how your gifts, strengths, previous experiences, and education will come together in preparing you for successful ministry for Christ, the Church, and the world. This project receives funding assistance from Lilly Endowment, Inc. For more information, visit www.apu.edu/clv/minigrants/development/.
Internships
If you are a sophomore, junior, or senior interested in participating in a funded internship experience, you can get involved by:
Visiting Doug Stude, M.Ed., in the Office of Career Services. He will provide you with an information packet about service opportunities available at area churches and non-profit organizations. You do not have to be a ministry major either; in fact, we give priority to non-ministry majors who want to explore ways to use their major in service to Christ, the Church, and the world.
Community Development Projects
If you are interested in community development projects, you can get involved by contacting the Office of Ministry and Service (M.A.S.) about after-school tutoring for Cerritos Kidz or the Azusa Garden Project.
