Faith Lee Kenton, M.M., is a conductor, singer and music educator based in the Los Angeles area. She began her musical education at the age of five with piano lessons in her home country of Singapore. Her interest in music grew and she decided to take up the cello in addition to her studies in piano, and was soon invited to play with members of the well-respected Singapore Youth Orchestra.

After completing a degree in finance in Singapore and working in the finance sector in Asia, Kenton decided to fully pursue her love of music and enrolled at Azusa Pacific University, studying piano, music education, Kodály pedagogy and choral conducting. She worked closely with music educators and conductors like Don Neuen, Charlene Archibeque, Anne Tomlinson and John Sutton. A passionate educator, she teaches conducting and ear training at the internationally-acclaimed Los Angeles Children’s Chorus and conducts on a freelance basis when she isn’t teaching at APU.

Describing her thoughts on her vocation, Kenton believes music brings meaning to life and depth to emotions. It is a powerful language that transcends culture, speaking what words cannot.
