Lauren Evans is a visual artist who works in a variety of techniques including sculpture and digital media. Her work frequently deals with the formation of young selves and the incredible difficulties that can be encountered in that process.
Lauren has been a teacher and visual artist in California since 1987. She earned her MFA with an emphasis in sculpture at the University of Southern California. She has shown her work nationally and has worked on several public art projects in Los Angeles and San Diego Counties. Lauren has taught sculpture, ceramics, drawing, design, and art appreciation at many local colleges. Currently, she teaches animation and in the MFA program at APU.
As a teacher, Lauren strives to motivate and challenge students to do their best work in a multi-disciplined fully developed critical environment. Encouraging them to see the similarities between the creative processes of learning and maturing processes of living a full life.
