Letitia Ugwueke, M.M., is an adjunct professor in APU's School of Music teaching applied and commercial voice and directing the Gospel Choir. She earned her Master of Music in Vocal Performance from Azusa Pacific University in 2003, studying with Brenda Reinebach.
Ugwueke is a versatile soloist and has performed professionally for more than 15 years and taught for 13. Her vocal career has included many live and recorded performances in the areas of opera, classical, spirituals, broadway, contemporary, gospel, reggae, country, and pop. She has toured the United States and Canada with the Azusa Pacific University Choir and Orchestra and was a featured soloist on the 1998 album Our God Is With Us and a vocalist on the album Honor and Praise in 1999. From 2001 to 2006, she toured with world-renowned Christian reggae band Christafari and has shared the stage with such artists as Kirk Franklin, Jennifer Knapp, All Together Separate, Stitche, and The Love Circle, to name a few. She has toured such places as the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Estonia, Germany, Ireland, Jamaica, New Zealand, Brazil, Argentina, the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City, Utah, and throughout the United States.
She recorded on Christafari’s album, Gravity, released in June 2003, and To The Foundation, released in 2007. In May 2007, Ugwueke performed with the L.A. Opera in the production of Porgy and Bess as an alto in the chorus. She performs for various church services, conferences, and events throughout Southern California and has a huge heart for ministry.
