Stephen Martin is active in church music, arranging, and composition. As a music director at Friends Church for sixteen years, he led over 200 volunteers in both choral and instrumental music ministry. He has arranged and scored music for film, symphonic orchestra, big band, vocal jazz, and chamber groups. His works for orchestra include Hope (composed for the Global Freedom movement), Further Up Further In (performed by LA Collaboration), and Convergence. As music director and arranger, he has worked with artists such as Aaron Blanton (By The Tree), Jody McBrayer (Avalon), Terron Brooks, and BASIX, among others. He completed his Bachelor of Arts in Music Performance, Education and Theory at Azusa Pacific University. He also holds a Master of Music in Trumpet Performance from the University of Southern California.
Stephen Martin is committed to preparing students for leadership in worship and the arts. He serves as the director for the Music & Worship program in the School of Music at Azusa Pacific University, and teaches courses in worship arts leadership, music technology, arranging, and orchestration.
