William Boocock is a specialist vocal music. He has been preparing singers for music careers for nearly 40 years. Boocock is Director of Coast Vocal Studios in Fountain Valley, California.

As a solo vocalist, he appeared with the California Bach Choir, Irvine Camarata and many other choral ensembles. Boocock has performed solo tenor roles in many major choral works including Handel’s Judas Maccabeus, Samson, and Messiah; Mendelssohn’s Elijah; Britton’s Rejoice in the Lamb and Scarlatti’s Saint Cecilia Mass; and Schubert’s Mass in G. He has performed under the baton of notable conductors such as Howard Swan, Charles Hirt, Roger Wagner, Paul Salamunovich, Helmut Rilling, Robert Hickok, and Harold Decker. Boocock has enjoyed leading tenor roles in Musical Theatre and Opera as well, including Amahl and the Night Visitors by Gian-Carlo Menotti and My Fair Lady by Alan Jay Lerner and Frederick Loewe.

As the winner of the Christian Artists’ coveted Songwriter’s Award, Boocock was awarded a record contract and publishing rights to his winning song but the connection to the recording industry led him, instead, to serve as Director of Artists and Repertoire at Providence Records.

Boocock also has served as the Director of Music at Christ Presbyterian Church in Huntington Beach, California, for the last 21 years.

As former Director of Vocal Studies at APU, William Boocock taught Applied Voice, Semi-Private Voice and Class Voice along with his administrative duties. Since 1989, Boocock’s teaching load at APU has included Oratorio Choir, Madrigal Choir, Music and Civilization, Music Fundamentals, Music Theory III and IV and Practical Musicianship in additions to voice-related courses.
