The Department of Art and Design is pleased to share that artist William Catling, Chair and Professor, is showing new work in a solo exhibition, William Catling: Measure of Duration, in Pomona.

As an artist, he attempts to address the loss of our natural sense of being human, that is our deeply intuitive sense of ourselves. He believes we have become disconnected from the natural rhythms of life. The figures Catling makes are rough, cracked, aged, reflecting both suffering and the internal capacity to connect to others outside oneself.

The opening reception is October 12, 2013.

William Catling: Measure of Duration, October 5 - November 30, 2013. Main Street Art Gallery, in the Pomona Arts Colony, 252-C South Main Street Pomona, CA 91766. T: 909/868.2970 E: cutressfineart@aol.com
