Judy Pfaff: The Art of Flower Arranging
The Department of Art and Design is proud to present a solo exhibition by acclaimed spatial collagist, Judy Pfaff. A wildly vibrant artist in today’s contemporary art scene, Pfaff was recently featured in the PBS series, ART 21: Art in the Twenty First Century, as well as a cover artist for the academic publication, Sculpture Magazine. Pfaff’s current exhibition will be showing a collection of innovative works that include collage, drawing, and sculpture.
Judy Pfaff: The Art of Flower Arranging confronts viewers with a confusion of color as complex relations between flora, fauna, and structural systems delicately navigate the space between happenstance and precision. Formed out of easily come by, non archival materials, Pfaff turns Chinese paper lanterns, artificial flowers, bedsprings, and various papers and plastics into fragile and ephemeral works.
