APU’s Bachelor of Arts in Theater Arts is a 45-unit degree that prepares students to integrate their Christian faith, academics, and dramatic artistry. The degree equips students with a broad range of skills in the theatrical arts, while allowing the student to also major in another degree at APU. The degree allows a student to develop a degree based on their interests.
Many of these special interests in the Theater Arts program are:
- Design and technical production
- Drama ministry/social justice
- Theater history
For students with broader educational goals, the Theater Arts major is often chosen as a double major (e.g., Theater Arts and Education, Theater Arts and English, Theater Arts and Business, Theater Arts and Ministry) and prepares students for specialized training at the graduate level. Students are encouraged to take advantage of study away opportunities available at APU and study theater in another culture. In their senior year, students culminate their training in a capstone project or internship in Los Angeles. The department also offers a Theater Arts minor.

Azusa Pacific University also offers an Acting for the Stage and Screen major (BFA) for students who wish to pursue professional acting careers and graduate studies in performance.
