Thank You for Your Feedback
December 20, 2003
Dear Community Member,
I want to thank you personally for your valuable feedback last year as we worked in earnest on our campus development plan. We believe strongly in the importance of community and want to grow the university in close partnership with our neighbors. As a token of our appreciation, enclosed is a calendar highlighting some of the people and events that made last year an exceptional experience for both APU and the Azusa community at large. As you glance at it throughout 2004, I hope that it will remind you of the powerful relationship we have begun and what that partnership is worth to our community.
We are still in the midst of the campus development process and welcome your questions and input in the coming months. We are in the process of completing all of the engineering studies required by the City with respect to such areas as water, power, sewer, traffic, and drainage. The next step will be completion of an environmental impact report prepared by the city’s consultants, which will provide an analysis of the ways in which the proposed plan will impact our community. Once the report is finalized, there will be plenty of opportunities to dialogue about the intrinsic value that an institution of higher education brings to its community as well as the synergy that abounds when neighbors and university members engage in life-changing partnerships for the betterment of the community. Meanwhile, we ask for your continued support and encourage your involvement in the process. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact Mark Dickerson at (626) 812-3046.
Thank you again for your interest and involvement! I look forward to many more years of the mutually beneficial partnership between APU and the great city of Azusa.
Sincerely,
Jon R. Wallace, DBA
President, Azusa Pacific University
