Community Forums: Listening and Sharing
September 1, 2002
Dear Neighbors,
Since the university’s relocation to Azusa in 1946, Azusa Pacific University has enjoyed numerous partnerships with the Azusa community. That is why we want you, as an Azusa resident, to
participate in discussions about our exciting campus development plan for Azusa Pacific University.
Some of the ideas we have been considering that might be good for both the city and the campus include a 3,000-seat public performing arts center, a new music building, residence halls,
and a science building. Beyond advantages to APU students, these improvements will benefit future Azusa residents by enabling the university to continue preparing teachers, ethical business leaders, pastors, scientists, nurses, and other health care professionals, many of whom will serve our Azusa community.
This October, we will host a series of forums to ensure your voice is heard as the campus development plan moves forward. The first two meetings will enable you to tell us how you feel. We encourage you to attend and invite you to offer your thoughts, opinions, and suggestions. The second two meetings will be planning discussions, incorporating your important feedback from the first meetings.
After all of these meetings, we will submit the formal campus development plan to the city and anticipate the City Council’s consideration of the initiative in spring 2003.
