This course develops a set of core skills essential to financial statement analysis, including strategic ratio analysis, cash flow analysis, pro forma financial statements, financial modeling, credit analysis, bond rating and bankruptcy predictions, and firm valuation using discounted cash flow techniques. Complications posed by capital structure, derivatives, inter-corporate investments, and accounting restatements are also considered. Emphasis is on practical applications. Case based.
