This is a general course in bonding theory, structure analysis, isomers, nomenclature, physical properties, functional groups, fundamental reaction mechanisms, stereochemistry, spectroscopy, and synthesis of of hydrocarbons. The laboratory course CHEM 261 must be taken concurrently with CHEM 251.Prerequisite: CHEM 152 with a grade of C or higher
