This course provides a broad overview of the history of Christian congregational singing and various forms, styles, and expressions included in their development. Emphasis is placed on historical practices such as early Christian worship, chant, Eastern Orthodox song, hymnody, praise and worship, and foundational elements of congregational musical practice.
