Physical Education in Elementary Schools, K-6
Units: 3
This course prepares students to teach physical education to children in
grades K–6. It uses a development approach and stresses exploratory
methods of teaching young children a variety of games, dance, selftesting,
movement exploration, lifetime and health-related fitness activities.
The class places emphasis on lesson plan development, writing clear
objectives, and developing effective classroom management skills.
Prerequisite: junior or senior standing, EDLS 300, PE 325 or PSYC 290
