Course Description
PHYC 380
Classical Mechanics
Units: 3
This course applies mathematical methods to the study of the general motion of particles and includes Newtonian and Lagrangian mechanics. It includes the study of projectiles experiencing linear and quadratic resistance, damped and driven oscillations, two-body central force motion, and rigid body rotational motion. This is a part of the core physics program. Prerequisite(s): PHYC 161 and MATH 263; or instructor’s permission
