Rtl/Brain-based Teaching and Learning: Math Disorders
Units: 3
This course integrates RtI (Response to Intervention) with the area of
special education as it relates to math disorders. This course assists the
teacher candidate in linking assessment data with research-based effective
intervention strategies for individuals with mild-to-moderate disabilities
including English language learners. The teacher candidate learns to
develop effective IEP goals and integrate assistive technology. The course
also addresses issues of classroom organization to ensure the classroom
setting promotes equality for all students. Prerequisite: Admission to the
special education credential program
