This course includes intensive instruction in reading and language arts methods that is grounded in methodically sound research. Exposure to well-designed instructional programs enables students to examine a comprehensive, systematic program of instruction that is aligned with the state-adopted academic content standards for study in English Language Arts and the Reading/Language Arts Framework. Students study explicit and meaningfully applied instruction in reading, writing, and related language skills and strategies and methods of guiding and developing the content-based reading and writing abilities of all students, including students with varied reading levels and language backgrounds.
