This course affords teacher candidates opportunities to learn and communicate knowledge and strategies that will help students attain content-area literacy in the single-subject credential program. This includes examining and experiencing teaching strategies and materials for developing students' receptive and expressive language skills, as well as critical thinking skills. An introduction to principles of language in first-and second-language acquisition, and practice in using SDAIE and ELD strategies form a portion of class content.
