This course introduces the student to how women are depicted in
biblical tradition. It includes careful reading of narratives about women
in the Bible, both Old and New Testaments, as well as the reception of
and expansion on those narratives in early Church tradition. Furthermore,
the student explores the way contemporary readers/hearers encounter
these texts in light of their own cultural location and faith perspectives.
