This course involves application of biological, psychosocial, and spiritual concepts to adult and elderly clients experiencing the stress of an acute or chronic alteration in physical health. Specific concepts of gerontology and development, fluid and electrlytes, diabetes, and hypertension are discussed related to the medical-surgical setting. Nursing process is utilized to provide care to one or two adult clients within the health care delivery system of an acute hospital.
