The development of literature from El Cid and the recently discovered jarchas through the 20th century is reviewed. This is a survey course which acquaints students with the major periods of Spanish literature and the outstanding writers of Spain. Class is conducted in Spanish. Prerequisites: SPAN 201/202, SPAN 320 (SPAN 301 recommended); or department approval
