This course offers intensive instruction for special
education students in reading and
language arts methods that is grounded in
methodologically sound research and includes exposure to
instructional programs adopted for use in California and
other public schools. This course included systematic,
explicit, and meaningfully applied instruction in
reading, writing, speaking, and listening aligned with
state-adopted academic content standards. Modifications
for
teaching special needs students, including second
language learners are also included. This course is
specially designed for direct application of learning by
intern teachers. Prerequisite: admission to Special
Education Program Program; corequisites: SPED 530 and
SPED 566A
