Dr. Alvin Sanders to Speak at the Christians on Diversity in the Academy Conference | Office of Diversity
Alvin Sanders, Ph.D. (Thursday, March 27, 2014)
Dr. Sanders has a passion for developing Christian organizational leaders to serve a non-white majority, multi-ethnic, America. Author of Bridging the Diversity Gap, he speaks on and consults with Christian organizations concerning issues of community impact and strategic diversity planning. His undergrad was done at Cincinnati Christian University, graduate school at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School, and earned his Ph.D. in Educational Leadership from Miami (OH) University. His dissertation focused on ethnic diversity on a Christian college campus. A turning point in his life was planting and pastoring River of Life Church in downtown Cincinnati in the midst of civil unrest over the shooting death of an African American teenager by a white police officer. River of Life is a multi-ethnic, economically diverse church with a heart for reconciliation. He presently serves as the Associate Executive Director of National Ministries for the Evangelical Free Church of America. He also is an adjunct professor at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School, advisory board member for the Christian Community Development Association (CCDA), and Diversity Advisor for the Association of Biblical Higher Education (ABHE).
