About the Program
Azusa Pacific’s LPCC Respecialization Certificate in Clinical Counseling pairs relevant coursework from expert faculty with opportunities for candidates to immediately put the course material into practice. The certificate program focuses on the school counselor's role in developing interventions and techniques to identify a broad spectrum of patient needs.
Candidates learn to address issues related to personal growth, adjustment to disability, crisis intervention, and psychosocial and environmental problems in the schools and beyond. Graduates complete the certificate program understanding how to empower individuals to deal with life situations, reduce stress, experience growth, change behavior and make well-informed, rational decisions related to the personal and academic growth of K–12 students.
As candidates explore problem-solving skills, discipline procedures, crisis and routine intervention, they are also prepared to meet California state licensure requirements for Licensed Professional Clinical Counselors. Candidates receive this designation only upon passing the required state examinations for licensure. Visit the California Association for Licensed Professional Clinical Counselors to learn more about licensure requirements.
