Bennett Nworie completed his Ph.D. in Special Education, with an emphasis in Emotional/Behavioral Disorders and Assessment. He has been involved in education for more than 20 years with teaching experience ranging from K-12 to college. Over the years, Nworie has sustained interest and involvement in the field of special education. He possesses vast academic and hands-on experience in various areas of special education. In the 1999-2000 academic year, he was unanimously chosen as Teacher of the Year because of his teaching effectiveness and contributions in the special education field.

Nworie is the founder and chief executive officer of Shiloh Counseling Services in Mesquite, Texas. Shiloh Counseling contracts with national insurance companies and receives referrals from more than five school districts on regular and special education students with behavioral and academic difficulties. In this capacity, he gained experience in management, leadership, organizational, clinical, and therapeutic skills. Through his involvement at Shiloh Counseling, he also aided students and their families in understanding the provisions of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), the importance of self advocacy, and ways to transition to independence and empowerment. He has counseled and provided interventions to students with MR, LD, ADD, ADHD, OCD, PTSD, ODD and other behavioral, academic or mental health problems.
