Bennett Nworie completed his Ph.D. in Special Education, with emphasis in Emotional/Behavioral Disorders and Clinical Psychology. He has been involved in education for more than 25 years with K-12 to college teaching experience. In the 1999-2000 school year he was named Teacher of the Year in Dallas, Texas because of his teaching effectiveness and contributions in the special education field.
Dr. Nworie was the chief executive officer of Shiloh Counseling Services in Mesquite, Texas for nearly ten years. In this capacity, he gained experience in leadership, administrative, organizational, clinical, and therapeutic skills. He served for six years as the Pastor of a mid-sized church in Hawthorne, California.
Dr. Ben Nworie served Azusa Pacific University as Director, Office of Faith Integration, Center for Teaching, Learning and Assessment, from 2010 to 2012. He was part of Center for Research in Ethics and Values (CREV) Oxford Faculty Development Seminar held in Oxford, England June 10-15, 2012. He is currently Professor of Special Education, and Site Coordinator (Azusa Campus), Special Education Department.
Dr. Nworie is a people’s person, an effective listener, and skilled in counseling. He is dependable, detail oriented and an effective communicator. He is highly committed to his student’s welfare and academic success.
