Cindy Tanis has been affiliated with Azusa Pacific University since 1986. She was the first to graduate from the newly-developed athletic training program in 1986, and remained as a graduate assistant to further develop the program. Tanis served as head athletic trainer for 11 years, as well as program director and instructor/academic advisor. She has taught in the Graduate Physical Education Program since 1988, returning full-time to the program in 2001. Her research interests include psychophysiological treatment methods for performance enhancement and pain management.
