Ivy Yee-Sakamoto, Ph.D., is Professor in the Teacher Education Department. Her focus is promoting total human development for all students. Her interests are the preparation of teachers for linguistically and culturally diverse student populations, and social studies education. A veteran teacher of young children in public and private schools, she currently teaches and supervises new and beginning teachers. She also serves as the CTEL (California Teachers for English Learners) Program Coordinator and conducts research in the areas of multicultural education, diversity education, and bullying prevention in schools and classrooms.
